Company-Sponsor Retirement Plan Investment and Fiduciary Services
Planning for retirement can feel overwhelming, but at Boston Wealth Management, we’re here to make it easier. We believe financial education is key, helping both plan sponsors and participants understand how to get the most out of their retirement plans – whether it’s a pension, 401(k), 403(b), or individual retirement account. Our goal is simple: to equip you with the knowledge and resources to make confident, informed decisions about your financial future.
Through Osaic Wealth, Inc., we provide a full suite of investment advisory services tailored to support the investment, fiduciary, and compliance needs of defined contribution plan sponsors. Our services include:
The firm constructs an ideal investment line‐up for each client. We consider performance, volatility, performance consistency, expense ratio, manager tenure, diversification and number of investment options when selecting investment options for the plan’s investment design.
The firm constructs the plan sponsor’s IPS. The IPS is used as a written investment guideline on how to approach the management of the defined contribution investment plan design. Having a formal IPS also helps to document that plan sponsor is prudently executing its investment fiduciary responsibilities regarding the construction of the plan.
We consider performance, volatility, performance consistency, expense ratio, manager tenure, diversification when selecting investment options for the investment plan design.
After constructing the plan investment design, our team monitors and conducts due diligence on a regular basis on each actively managed investment option. If an investment option does not maintain an acceptable standard of performance based on the key metrics we monitor, it will be replaced by a new investment manager.
Based on the plan’s investment line up, our team constructs a spectrum of sample asset allocation models. The models cover the risk spectrum (conservative through aggressive) and provides plan participants guidance on how to potentially allocate their retirement assets
The firm provides participant and plan sponsor education in a variety of methods. Our team provides general plan education during regularly scheduled educational meetings. We also provide one‐on‐one meetings with plan sponsors to discuss plan design and participants to discuss investment options. Finally, our team distributes to participants regular retirement investing articles throughout the year.
The firm acts as an investment co‐fiduciary on the client’s plan. Our team provides the plan sponsor analysis, recommendations, education and documentation to assist the plan sponsor with their fiduciary duties.
Our team will periodically analyze and review the plan’s default investment options for suitability and appropriateness. The default option is the investment used when an employee contributes but does not elect his/her investment choice.
Every two years, the firm conducts a services RFP for both the investment platform and TPA services. We present to the plan sponsor the results of both the quantitative and qualitative analysis used to evaluate the RFP responses.
Our team thoroughly documents the investment design construction on behalf of the plan sponsor. We file the investment plan design methodology used to construct the plans investment line‐up. Our team also files its selection, due diligence, and monitoring methodology used to analyze on an on‐going basis a plan’s investment line‐up. The team documents every interaction with the plan sponsor through formal meeting minutes that are recorded in the plan’s fiduciary file.
